Massive Publishing (home of the Whatnot Publishing imprint) names author, comic book writer, and screenwriter Blake Northcott as Editor-in-Chief, effective immediately.
“Blake’s commitment to the craft of storytelling, her passion for comics, and the amazing ability she has to connect with creators, is what made her the obvious choice to help lead the company into its next phase of expansion and innovation.” - Michael Calero, CEO/Co-Publisher (Massive Publishing)
“Massive has quickly become the most exciting brand in the industry,” says Northcott. “What Michael [Calero], Trevor [Richardson], and Kevin [Roditeli] have accomplished within a year is nothing short of extraordinary. I’m so honored to be working alongside such a talented group of people.”
Northcott has been writing professionally since 2010. She has a Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University, and teaches at The Kubert School.
She penned the international bestselling Arena Mode novels, which were optioned by Heavy Metal Studios to be developed as a streaming series.
She’s written for DC Comics, Dynamite Comics, Aspen Comics, Heavy Metal Magazine, and wrote editorials for Mark Millar’s label, Millarworld. She also writes Evanescence: Echoes from the Void for Opus Publishing.

In May of 2023, The North Valley Grimoire was adapted into a series of comic books for Massive under the Whatnot Publishing imprint.
